Description

This is a teaching model which has been completely reworked and designed to look like an antique orrery. It has a definite steampunk appeal. These are completely reassembled by us and reworked top to bottom right down to a hand-distressed plate showing the seasons and moon phases. No two are exactly alike. Because of the time consuming nature of this custom work, we will need 4-5
weeks
from the time you order until the time we ship.
These are fully functional. The sun opens in half and accepts two AA batteries and lights up. We think this particular model must have been NOS (new old stock) because current models use camera batteries and have an external on/off switch and this does not. The gears move the earth and moon around the sun. It is not electrified other than the light. Again, these are plastic models which have been painted to look metal. This s

is used to illustrate the earths rotation around the sun and the moons rotation around the earth. It is 16.5 inches across and approximately 11.5" tall. We do not consider this a toy for anyone under the age of 12.
